Google Explores the Human Body With HTML5

Google has just soft-launched its latest browser experiment, the Google Body Browser, which is basically Google Earth for the human body.

Think of it as a three-dimensional, multi-layered browser version of those Visible Man/Woman model kits. Or a virtualized version of Slim Goodbody, if you will.

Google showed off the app at the WebGL Camp. WebGL is a cross-platform low-level 3D graphics API that is designed to bring plugin-free 3D to the web. It uses the HTML5 Canvas element and does not require Flash, Java or other graphical plugins to run.

If you visit bodybrowser.googlelabs.com in a supported web browser, you’ll get a three-dimensional layered model of the human anatomy that you can zoom in on, rotate and search.

WebGL support hasn’t hit mainstream browsers, but the beta versions of Google Chrome, Safari and Firefox all support it.

Once you’ve got a compatible browser, visiting the Body Browser home page shows off the human body. You can adjust the various layers of skin, muscles, tissues and the skeletal system.

What’s really cool is that if you type in an organ or bone or ventricle system, you are taken directly to that area in the anatomy, zoomed in. You can turn labels on or off and the app supports multitouch so users of trackpads (Magic or otherwise) or multi-touch mice can zoom in with ease.

Notice that the application doesn’t require a plugin. “Unlike other web based medical applications I have seen, no Flash, Java, or other plugins are needed. This application will run on any WebGL supported browser.

This is a pretty cool display of new web technologies. Presumably the use case is for the healthcare industry, but educators and students can benefit from this kind of demonstration too.

Facebook Messenger for Windows 7

There are lots of softwares that supports facebook chat. As We’ve ever posted about ftalk which is special software that is made for facebook chat. Besides mobile messenger’s, now facebook has released their own chat messenger which supports facebook ticker, notification, live stream, comment, like, and dock window.

Windows users who install the client on their system need to connect the program with a Facebook account before they can use its functionality.

Facebook Messenger looks like a bare bones version of Firefox. Users see three icons at top which indicate friend requests, messages and notifications. Facebook Ticker information and contacts are displayed below.

Facebook Messenger did not work on a 64-bit version of Windows 7. The client worked fine on the other hand on a 32-bit version of Windows. It is not clear if the software is only compatible with 32-bit versions of Windows, or if a setting on the 64-bit test system caused the incompatibility. The player opened fine, but log in was not recognized on the 64-bit system.

Facebook Testing Messenger for Windows Ticker+Chat Desktop Client

Facebook today began allowing a limited test group of users to download a new Facebook Messenger for Windows 7 desktop client. It provides access to Chat, the Ticker feed, and notifications. Facebook is looking to gauge interest in desktop access to these real-time features that could keep users engaged with the service all day without having to keep a browser window open. The client could become popular, considering that the Facebook-integrated Windows Live Messenger desktop client that lets you Chat with friends as well as third-party instant messaging contacts is the top app on the Facebook Platform with 18.2 million daily active users.

I’ve confirmed the client’s limited beta launch with Facebook, which pointed me to the new Help Center article with details and screenshots. The fraction of the total user base randomly selected to join the tester group are being notified via home page prompts. There is no public download link, and the client is only compatible with Windows 7, though it was developed entirely by Facebook and does not constitute a new partnership with Microsoft.

Facebook is pushing to get more users onto its Chat service. This summer, it released its standalone Messenger app for iOS, Android, and BlackBerry as new distribution points for Chat. Through Messenger, Facebook is challenging instant messaging, SMS and to some extent, email. However, none of the other Messenger clients include the Ticker, which displays links back to Facebook.com.

By combining Chat and Ticker, Facebook can hook users on its communication system that produces huge volumes of sustained attention, and then get them frequently returning to the site by clicking through Ticker and notification links. I’m awaiting a response from Facebook as to whether Sponsored Stories will also appear in the client, as these ads were integrated into the Facebook.com Ticker today. If they do, Ticker-integrated Messenger clients could become a revenue stream as well as an engagement draw.

By paring Facebook down to just its real-time elements, users may leave Messenger for Windows on throughout the day. This would expose them to desktop notifications about Facebook activity that could increase engagement with the site better than leaving a browser window open. If the Windows 7 version gains traction, clients for Mac and other operating systems could be on the way

Google+ adds powerful photo editing suite, free

Google+ has added Instagram-like controls to its photo section. The service has always had basic editing, and because Google+ shares its photo albums with Picasa, any edits made there would propagate back from there.

But building them in makes things so much easier.

The new controls only work in the desktop version, and are accessed by clicking the edit button when you’re in the fullscreen light-box view and selecting “Creative Kit.” You are then launched into an editor which is powered by PicNik.

From here, you can crop and tweak your photos, but you can also apply Instagram-style filters and perform some pretty powerful edits. The “Sunless Tan” tool, for example, does what it says. You use a brush to apply the tan and it somehow works out where the edges are and turns anyone into a Florida retiree.

Right now there is also a seasonal toolkit: Halloween. This lets you add blood spatter, gravestones, “Dracula Dermis,” and other fun nonsense to your pictures.

The Creative Kit uses Flash to do its magic, so even if you manage to sign in to the non-mobile version of Google+ from an iPad you can’t use it. If any readers have Flash-capable Android tablets, try it out and let us know how it goes. On the other hand, this is good enough to be a Photoshop replacement for many people, and that, combined with speed, may be scary for other sites like the neglected Flickr.

How to Check If Someone Is Stealing Your Wi-Fi and How to protect it

When you find that your internet has slowed down suddenly, there are chances that someone has hacked into your account. This is one single clue to suspect that someone is hacking into your account, and if you think that your old router with WEP security you can escape from the vicious eyes of the hacker then you are wrong. These days’ hackers hack your account by bye-passing WEP security also. They have special hacking routers to do this. Besides, the heavy charges that you will be facing and if you think, you need not bother because you have an unlimited account, then you are wrong. All the mischief and online notorious activities done by them will reflect on to your account and therefore you will be in soup for the folly of someone else, if identified. So you need to learn how track down that you are being hacked or not!

Track the hacker down physically:

When you are choosing the password for making your Wi-Fi secure, choose a password that is 15 characters long with lower and upper cases, numbers and punctuations symbols.

Besides there are a few other things that you need to do to make your Wi-Fi access entirely secure.

Hiding your SSID:

This is worth trying to hide your network name, but this is of no use these days with the availability of counter softwares like Backtrack that can reveal your hidden name instantly.

IP filtering:

This blocks out a specific IP, and permits you to change your IP address whenever you are in doubt of being hacked, which is a very simple process like refreshing your system. When all the other things are all right, and then go in for checking whether you are being hacked as this is the last but not the least option that could be the reason for reduced Wi-Fi speed.

How to Install Old Facebook Chat Script in Google Chrome

In Google Chrome, its really easy task to install the script to enable the Old facebook chat. Just Click the Following link to install Script. CLICK HERE TO GO TO DOWNLOAD SCRIPT PAGE. In the Script page Click ‘INSTALL’ button which is in the Top Right side of the page.

Now the Install Popup will appear, in that box CLICK ‘INSTALL’ and now the Script is Installed.

Now the Script is Installed. Now Close the Existing Facebook page and Open the Facebook again. You can See your Old Favorite Chat is available. If you cant see the old facebook chat, Clear the cache and open the facebook. Anytime you can remove this script from extension menu of the Google chrome to get the New sidebar chat box.

How to Install Old Facebook Chat Script in Mozilla Firefox

In Mozilla Firefox, First we need to install Grease Monkey Add-on before installing the Old Facebook Script. So Open the Firefox and go to Download page of the Grease Moneky Add-on from the following link. Click here to go to Gease Monkey Add-on Download page. In the Download page Click ‘Add To Firefox’ button.

After clicking ADD TO FIREFOX button, the popup will ask about installation. Click INSTALL and Its done.

Now Gease Monkey Add-on is Installed. Now Click here to go to Script Page in the Script Page click Install button which is in the Right top, same as we did above for How to get Old Facebook chat for Google Chrome.

After installing Close the Facebook and Open it again to see the Old Facebook chat is available. if you can’t find, Clear the cache files and try again. Anytime you can remove this script from Gease Monkey add-on to get the New sidebar chat box.
